This long outing is best enjoyed on a hardtail mountain bike or cyclo-cross bike but is rated as though it’s a road ride. This trail offers mile after mile of rough country road (Dolly Copp Road) and repurposed rail grade taking you from the White Mountain Road all the way to the wetlands of Pondicherry Wildlife Refuge. If supplies are needed on the journey look for Lowes Path at about trail mile 8.9, if you turn right on Lowes path it will take you to the highway and a country store a few hundred feet east and on the other side of the road. This trail may best be enjoyed as a one-way adventure with a shuttle vehicle parked at Pondicherry Wildlife Refuge. Bring plenty of food and water and appropriate clothing for a long ride. The Dolly Copp Road is closed in winter months.
